Dr. Puneet Kaur Kohli Steps into CTO Role at Generali Central Life Insurance

Generali Central Life Insurance has appointed Dr. Puneet Kaur Kohli as its new Chief Technology Officer, marking a significant leadership move for the company’s technology and digital strategy.
The veteran technology leader steps into the role with over three decades of experience across industries. Before joining Generali Central Life Insurance, Dr. Kohli served as President, IT & Data (CIO) at Liberty General Insurance, where she was the Market Technology Leader for India and part of the Asia Retail Markets group.
Sharing thoughts on this new role, Dr. Kohli said, "I look forward to taking the company's technology roadmap and digital transformation initiatives ahead. Leadership is not about being the best; it's about making everyone else better."
Her career has been shaped by her focus on digital transformation and enabling organisations to scale with strong, technology-driven foundations.
At Liberty General Insurance, she led technology modernisation, Agile and DevOps integration, IT governance, and digital and data initiatives. Her role spanned platform management, engineering, security, vendor partnerships, and continuous improvement.
Her earlier leadership positions include Chief Technology Officer at Universal Sompo General Insurance, CTO and CIO at Manappuram Finance Limited, Group Executive Vice President IT and CTO at Bajaj Capital Limited, and Director IT, Infrastructure, and Service Operations for APAC at Motricity.
Across these roles, she worked on cloud capabilities, mobile analytics, digital engineering, data platforms, technology strategy, operations, and organisational transformation.
Dr. Kohli brings extensive experience in strategic planning, leadership, negotiation, business strategy, AWS, communication, teamwork, and budgeting to her new position at Generali Central Life Insurance.
