The newly added feature allows users to create and access their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) directly within the Samsung Health app.

Samsung, a global consumer electronics brand, has joined hands with Eka Care, an Indian healthtech company, to launch the “Health Records” feature in the Samsung Health app.

This feature integrates with India’s digital health ecosystem, enabling users to manage their health records conveniently.

The newly added feature allows users to create and access their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) directly within the Samsung Health app.

By linking health data generated by healthcare providers across India, it simplifies personal health management.

This initiative aligns with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), a government-driven project to digitize healthcare infrastructure.

According to Kyungyun Roo, Managing Director of Samsung Research Institute, Noida, “The Health Records feature in the Samsung Health app reflects our commitment to enhancing everyday experiences by providing secure and easy access to digital health records. This functionality supports users in managing their health history, tracking progress, and sharing data with medical professionals when needed.”

The feature was developed collaboratively by Samsung’s R&D, UX Design, and Consumer Experience teams, along with Eka Care.

Users can register for an ABHA account within the app using their Aadhaar or mobile phone number.

Once registered, they gain access to their medical history, including prescriptions, diagnostic results, and hospital visits, all securely linked to their unique ABHA ID.

Deepak Tuli, Co-founder of Eka Care, stated, “This partnership with Samsung is a step toward wider adoption of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission across India. Together, we aim to simplify health record management, making it accessible and secure for millions.”

Enhanced Features for Health Management

With the integration of the Health Records feature, users can store medical data in ABDM-certified secure health lockers, reducing dependency on physical records.

Additionally, at ABDM-compliant hospitals and clinics, users can scan a QR code via the Samsung Health app to obtain a virtual queue token, helping streamline outpatient visits.

The Samsung Health app also includes services like medication tracking, sleep monitoring, mindfulness activities, and irregular heartbeat notifications.

All data on Samsung devices is protected by the Knox Security Platform, ensuring privacy and security.

Expanding Digital Health Solutions

Samsung’s collaboration with Eka Care underscores its focus on leveraging technology to simplify healthcare access and management.

The new feature aims to make health information more organized and readily available for users.

Indian users can access the Health Records feature by updating their Samsung Health app, which is available on the Samsung Galaxy Store and Google Play Store.

This initiative contributes to the larger goal of creating a connected and efficient healthcare ecosystem in the country.
