Digital Innovation is Reshaping Clinical Research in India, Says ISCR President Seema Pai
The event brought together more than 1,900 participants and over 285 speakers and clinical researchers
The Indian Society for Clinical Research (ISCR) recently concluded its 19th Annual Conference in New Delhi, highlighting the developments in digital innovation, regulatory processes, and global collaboration in clinical research.
The conference was based on the theme “Accelerating Clinical Research in India through Digital Innovation, Global Collaboration and Regulatory Excellence for Patient-Centric Value Creation” and featured pre-conference workshops on February 12, followed by the two-day main conference on February 13 & 14, 2026.
The event brought together more than 1,900 participants and over 285 speakers and clinical researchers and saw participation of representatives across Indian and global pharmaceutical and medical diagnostics companies, research and development professionals, trainees, and startups.
The discussions centered around the emerging trends, evolving regulatory frameworks, and the growing role of digital technologies in clinical research.
The sessions highlighted the global clinical development pathways, strengthening operational standards at clinical trial sites, regulatory efficiencies and harmonization, global collaboration, data integrity, innovation, and patient-centric research models.
Further, the participants also examined how digital tools and collaborative frameworks are influencing clinical trial design and execution in India.
Highlighting the significance of clinical research, President of ISCR, Dr. Seema Pai, said, “India’s clinical research ecosystem is undergoing a significant shift driven by rapid advances in digital technologies, data-led research models, and a growing focus on patient-centric trial design. Together, these developments are enabling more efficiency, inclusiveness, and scalable clinical research, while also strengthening patient engagement and trust across the research lifecycle.”
She also added, “Recent regulatory reforms and policy measures, including continued emphasis on healthcare, innovation, and research in the Union Budget, reflect India’s strong commitment to building a globally aligned and future-ready clinical research environment."
The conference concluded with participants emphasizing collaboration among stakeholders to translate discussions into action and to support the continued development of patient-focused, technology-enabled clinical research in India.
